Cage the Rage 2; Into the Light

Remember I said young Mr DeBrueys was hard to trace, well I wasn’t lying, but time can be a funny thing.

Between a bit of chasing through people I knew in offroad CAMS circles and the Outerlimits forum, I got an accurate mobile on him, which I left multiple voice mails on, which he eventually returned when he got back to mobile range.

Now while good with a welder and steel, Chris doesn’t seem to have net access, so emailing my proposal wasn’t going to work, but a long familiarity with the vehicle on his part, and pics of one he’d done on mine, allowed us to talk over what I wanted on the phone.

The deal was cut and done, $1500 clean swap for a six point cage!

I feel gooood…

Weekend of the 11/12th November shall go down in history as my first ever roll over, more of a lay down really.

But it was also a chance to test a set of tyres I had on loan, Kuhmo Venture MT in a 30×9.5.

The recent death of some hi profile motorsporting professionals has particularly brought home the need for appropriate engineered safety controls in competition vehicles.

Discussion on Outers has always been passionate when it comes to cages, no one denies the value of them but the design and purpose is widely debated.

MIG 728 MDT – Installation
